Patti Mendz writes YA fiction for the next generation of athletes — because every girl deserves a story where she's the MVP. Her self-published Diamond Mind Softball Series follows young softball players navigating the pressures of competition, friendship, and finding their inner strength. It started with a lot of journals and life lessons she wanted to share. She is channeling that love of storytelling into books that highlight the resilience and strength of girls today. Through her work, Patti hopes to inspire young readers to believe in themselves, on and off the field. 

Patti writes with a rhythmic flow of a conversation, sometimes casual or animated. It feels like regular life on the page. Her experiences of moving, fitting-in, being an observer and participant of many new and exciting ideas and activities of her time truly shaped her writing. She values understanding the younger generation and hopes she can be a small part of their well being.
